Government announces change of heart on Childcare Vouchers

The government has announced that it will not phase out the tax relief on Childcare Vouchers.

So what does this mean today?

If you currently receive Childcare Vouchers, the scheme remains unchanged.

New entrants to a scheme will enjoy exactly the same savings as existing Childcare Voucher users.

What will happen from April 2011?

Initial details of the government's decision on this matter can be found here: http://www.number10.gov.uk/Page21593

We will tell you as soon as the HMRC publishes further details regarding the practical steps that employers will need to take from April 2011.

On behalf of working parents, Computershare Voucher Services welcomes this decision, and would like to thank everyone who has played a part in putting the facts about Childcare Vouchers into the public domain, particularly our registered parents, carers and employers.

Over 92,000 of you signed a petition on the Downing Street website to keep Childcare Vouchers; many of you wrote to your MP, others still provided case studies for the media. With your support, we have achieved the right outcome – thank you again.
